The new me
So, I have turned over a new leaf with the new year. A bit cliche, but the truth. I guess I needed something to give me a push or a milestone of a fresh start. This new leaf involves me being ready to take what life gives me where my career is concerned.
Yes, music is my everything, but thanks to the state of the world music can only be a couple peoples everything and the rest of us get pushed...

Thanksgiving
I feel like a whale.
Not one of those little baby whales who are all “I weight a ton, but I am still cute and cuddly.”
No.
I am a full blown adult whale, eating thousands of pounds of krill everyday. A gentle, still huge, but gentle giant.
Best part of being a krill filled whale?
No guilt on this day of days.

I just got an email from my Aunt Jan. My Aunt Cathi is dying. She has cancer and the doctors have just told my uncle that her body systems are shutting down. They are bringing her home today for hospice care.
I didn’t know she had cancer.
I haven’t seen her in over two years.
I feel horrible. Last night I celebrated my performance, and my aunt is dying.
I had no idea.

I feel so happy and yet so guilty. I made the DeVos auditions and yet…Briana didn’t. I feel awful. I wish she could have made it too.
This is a horrible feeling. I held her tonight while she cried ‘cause she didn’t make it knowing the whole time that I will be playing not once, but four times.
I feel a little selfish and greedy.

Last night I went to the club for the first time. I was crazy, but I enjoyed it mostly. There was some strobe action that I didn’t care for, but I really enjoyed dancing and dancing with Matt. There were also some sketchy guys that came calling, but we worked around and away from that.
So, overall good. Now my leg hurts.
School
This semester is going to be crazy. I foresee it already. Why do I always have to take the over-grown, thorny, vines catching at your feet making you fall down kind of road.
Sometimes I wish I had taken that road everyone else did…

i just bought the new alicia keys cd. this is out of character for me [kind of] and i think part of the reason is i could really use an r & b cd to put on repeat like i used to do with brandy in fifth grade.
